A short history of Awi Agew horse culture, Northwestern Ethiopia

چکیده

The Awi Agew is one of the most ancient inhabitants northern and central highland plateau Ethiopia. They occupied this until seventeenth century but have been displaced or absorbed over region by Semitic-speaking peoples. Horses were probably introduced into Ethiopia from Nile valley during second half millennium B.C. As are early aforementioned Ethiopia, their introduction with horse breeding training noticeable, as they did in area plant domestication. Gradually learned to breed donkey produce mule, which outstanding cultural creativity. Meder (now Zone) Gojjam also noted for its plow culture long-aged riders association. However, there no comprehensive study undertaken on history culture. This paper, based published unpublished sources oral accounts, attempted fill gap exploring place people horses, investigating beginning looking Horse Riders Association.
